Pyrex from 1939

Hi all, SusieQT here from Practice in Time . Since today is my anniversary, I thought I'd show you one of my most special pieces of Pyrex. This is a covered casserole from 1939.

Of course, we go nuts for the colored Pyrex, but the clear pieces started being manufactured back 1915, with one of the original sizes being this 1 1/2 qt casserole.

I love the shape of the knob at top- so cute!
Here is a close up of the lid. It is all etched in a flowers and vines pattern.

And the "dollar sign" mark on the bottom.

You may be wondering how I can date this exactly to 1939. Well, I can actually date it to October 21, 1939- because it was a wedding present to my grandparents when they were married on this date back then.
