A Corning Christmas to Me

I took a day trip with my parents to Corning, NY (about 1.5-2hrs from where I am in Syracuse). I have to admit, I spent a small fortune. As luck would have it, I didn't find any of the items I dream about, but the lot was good anyways!

I bought several items since there was tons to choose from... and then put them into my display so I have just a few pics.

my scores: a pink scroll with holder ($18), pink gooseberry largest fridgie ($20), brown Americana largest fridgie ($4!!), turquoise promotional oval 1.5 casserole ($7), 4qt pink cinderella ($20), several random mismatched stems, baskets etc for flameware ($40ish), one whole 6cup coffee percolator ($26), butterfly gold large oval casserole with white embellished lid, and a turquoise syrup dispenser ($10). I posted some pics here!

And while we spent wayyy too much.. I feel like we had to make the road trip worthwhile. Ps most other prices were crazy! I wanted the 4qt butterfly gold mixing bowl, but for $30, I passed right by. I saw a Gooseberry full cinderella set for $125, 4 mixing bowls of solid turquoise, $80. Would have gone to a good home, but not this time!

    2. Thanks!! Theyre such big love bugs!

Corning surprisingly doesnt "specialize" or feature their products per say in the antique stores, which i would.. But there was still a bunch for sure!!

    1. Ah I know, lucky :) but I did pay antique prices not thrift. I have the turquoise scroll 443 too. Did they make the spacesavers in turquoise scroll too like the pink? I want, and would be willing to trade for that!! Hope u find yours soon :)

    2. I believe the only turquoise scroll ever made is the 443 - it was made as a promotional item in 1959 and came with a lid and holder (which I don't have). When I found it and before I knew any better, I dreamt about finding a bunch of Pyrex pieces with turquoise scroll. Oh well, now I dream of pink!

  7. Was the shop you went to in downtown Corning? I haven't been there this year at all, but I don't remember seeing much Pyrex in the shops there last year. Would love to make the trip over there for the Pyrex, though!
