Voila! My Latest Finds

Just when I thought it was a slow pyrex month, I found a few pieces that I couldn't resist! Above, I decided to start buying the small bowls from mixing sets (without "ears") to use as cereal bowls; but all I kept finding were the small cinderellas! So, I think it'll have to do. I just need one more pink to make it a great set. P.S. remember when I said I was only buying turquoise pieces? Yeah...

Then I went to the Thrifty Shopper. Between my student discount, and a coupon from the newspaper, I got this crusty Golden Acorn Promotional Utility for $1. How could I not buy it?! After plenty of soaking and scrubbing, it came out well :)

Later, at the Good Will, I saw a guy wheeling a fresh cart out. And I stole this Friendship casserole right off the cart when he turned the other way! Oh, what a thrill. I also found a mini beige fridgy there (maybe from the mushroom pattern, or colonial mist). Didn't need it, but "had" to buy.

And finally, the piece de resistance (can't remember if I included this in my last blog or just in comments)...
I finally have a butter dish! My parents made another trip to Corning, and voila! What a beauty :) I also got another whole amish butterprint cinderella set (why two? why not!), and a pyrex cookbook. Hurray!

Happy Times!

  1. Oh Wow! You are racking up the good stuff! I just found my first butter dish today. It's Butterfly Gold. Wish it was Butterprint! haha but I'm still happy! You did great to grab that Friendship right off the cart! haha We have to be sneaky sometimes.
Looks like you're having as much fun as I am collecting Pyrex! :)

    1. I kept finding butterfly gold butter dishes at antique stores but never the amish butterprint! One lady said butterprint dishes were the most common, but this was the first Ive come across. Good luck, youll find one. Id like another as a spare incase, or one for butter and one for margerine! Spoiled :)

  5. Thanks guys! So fun hunting for the cereal bowls now! Except I hate having to pass it up since a lot of places overprice.
