I don't know why people have these on their blogs, really. They were not bad before, but since Blogger switched them over, they are terrible, hard to read & I have to refresh them to get a legible one. I can't be bothered on some blogs to leave comments anymore since it's so bothersome.
I've been blogging since 2009 & I receive like 1 spam comment a year.
