Starburst Promotional Pyrex Spotted

I spotted this elusive piece of Pyrex this weekend:

At first I thought the tag read $10.99. As if!

Turns out, this thing is going for $109.99 without the cradle.

Needless to say, I left it there in the case.

However, this antique shop is local to me, and if this is a piece you absolutely MUST have, even at that price, message me: TypingSunflowers (at) gmail.com, or leave a comment, and I'll be happy to pick it up if it's still there this week, and ship it to you at cost!

(I may have to also charge you for the extra 18 layers of bubble wrap as well.)

  1. Wow! What a nice piece. I can't imagine finding something so rare in the wild. The seller totally knows what they have!

  2. I just saw this one start at 9.99 on ebay and go for about 110.00 bucks. Wonder if it's the same person!

    1. They do seem to go between $100-$150 on ebay! I go to this antique store pretty frequently just to look at what is there (and occasionally to pick up some fridgies...) so I plan on keeping tabs on it to see how long it stays there!

  3. That piece is worth the money in my opinion. It truly is elusive! I got it for my birthday last year and it is strictly a display piece.

  6. Wow, talk about an investment piece.
Now, how silly is my dream of finding one in a yard sale? A person can dream, right?

  7. I am no vintage pyrex collector, per say. I have a few pieces found at yard sales/good wills/other antique shops but nothing like my sister who linked me to this site and this post because she knows....I have this exact piece. I got it years ago at a yard sale. My Mother actually bought it for me for going off to college, she thought it was really pretty. At the time I thought it was lame. It got shoved in the back of the cupboards while at college, surprisingly survived. I took it when I got married and then started appreciating vintage things including this piece of vintage pyrex. When my Mom found out my sister was a true collector of this stuff she begged and begged me to give it to her. My sister sent me this link in an email titled "You don't' know what you have!" I'm glad I kept it :) I love it and have loved it for a while but she was right I did not know what I had!

    1. Wow! Good thing you kept it... of course if you had gotten rid of it, someone else may have scored it for cheap at a thrift store ;) That piece is definitely a keeper though.

    1. It's aqua -- and a bad photo. I only had my phone with me that day. There's a better photo on PCI of what the Starburst actually looks like: http://pyrexcollective.blogspot.com/2013/03/starbursts-polka-dots.html (kudos to the person who scored that one at the thrifts!)
