My first piece of Pyrex bought off of craigslist!

Well, I haven't been to the thrift stores in almost 2 weeks. I am going this Friday and hopefully I will find some nice Pyrex finds....but in the meantime I was searching on craigslist for some Pyrex. A Pyrex dealer in one of the antique stores that I got friendly with sent me an email to check out this one ad on craigslist. I have seen this posting before but it said Pyrex roasting pan....I never clicked on it because I thought it would be new Pyrex as I always find on craigslist.
I saw it and couldn't believe my eyes! So I emailed the person and he responded very quickly, we arranged to come to his house that afternoon after my husband came home from work. I called my husband right away with such excitement and he was pretty thrilled too.
We gladly drove over and picked up this AWESOME find.
I couldn't believe that it was in excellent condition, and was a rare piece and such a good price!

I found this beautiful Butterfly Gold 4 Qt casserole with the original lid!
No chips, scratches, marks or anything in perfect condition!
Looks like someone either cared for it very nicely or it was never used!
This casserole is so durable. and I got this for $10!!!!!
I was so excited that I found this piece.
Don't you love when this happens? =)

    1. Thank you! Yes, it is very rare to come by. It is huge! And the inside is not the typical Pyrex material, this piece is made like coringware! Very durable. I love it!

  3. I have seen that size on other blogs but never in person. I love the giant size and hopefully find one of my own someday.

So happy for you! Especially since you love BG so much.

    1. Thank you!! =) I am super happy that I found this! Lost a bid a few weeks ago on ebay for the same thing, glad I did loose it. This was the first time also I saw it in person other than that I always saw it on the internet.
Right now it is in my fridge with leftovers from last nights dinner =)

  4. Amazing find! I have the Spring Blossom one myself, I paid twice as much as you did. I also recently found the homestead patterned version too, it was only 4.99. They're great for roasting chicken or making stew.

    1. Oh wow, I never knew it came in the Spring blossom patter. I used mine for serving pasta! But roasting chicken or stew sounds great! I am going to try it!
