Makes My Heart Smile

I recently blogged about acquiring my grandma's Pyrex mixing bowl for a Hamilton Beach mixer.  I couldn't believe it when I stumbled upon a 1946 Hamilton Beach mixer at a thrift store that still works for $16.  I snapped it up and the bowl fits on it perfectly!  The chips of paint give it charm and it weighs like 50 pounds.  No wonder it lasted all this time.  Anyone else into mixers?  I've been wanting one for awhile.

  5. I have that EXACT same Mixer! It was given to my Grandmother by my Great Gramndmother brand new in 1946. The last few years Grandma hasnt been able to cook so she gave it to me to use at the Casablanca. (we use it almost everyweekend over at my blog "Everyone Goes to Mick's") I love it!
