Hey all!
I found this beauty for $3 today! I hadn't ever seen the Golden Tulip in the wild before.
I flipped it over to discover it's previous owner had written on
it...in sharpie. SAY WHAAAT. Unacceptable! Don't worry - Barkeeper's
Friend took care of that craziness.
I also grabbed this little Autumn Harvest guy for $2. I love Autumn Harvest!
Feel free to check out my blog here!
xoxo,
Haha- that sharpie deal is something my mom would've done. That is, after she put it through the dishwasher a few times... At least yours came off- my mom would wrote her name and phone # on all sorts of serving dishes she took to potlucks, ruining quite a few in the process.
ReplyDeleteHaha - my momma writes on all of her Tupperware!
DeleteThank goodness that name was written on the bottom. That's a score for you!

I always love finding the name of the previous owner written in sharpie; I find it endearing. Makes me think of what fun times they had and what yummy food must have been made and shared in the Pyrex. Rubbing alcohol on a cottonball will remove the marker without harming the dish, too.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I wonder what goodies L. Baker made with this piece...
DeleteI have the Golden Tulip one also that I found in a thrift store....it is like a matte finish on the bowl, it dings up pretty easily, that's the only thing I hate about it!
ReplyDeleteI just picked up my second Golden Tulip the other day. Why two? Sometimes I see a dish that I already have but it's actually in better condition than the one I have, which isn't bad, and so I end up buying it and then have one for trade. Magic Eraser also makes quick work of getting Sharpie names off. I love the Tulip and it's perfect for Spring!
