Rare Promo Goldmine

I met my best friend Heather today in a town that is half way for both of us (we live an hour a part).  We always thrift and then go to lunch and today was no exception.  We hit one of our favorite smaller thrifts and I almost passed out.  There was the Ivy chip and dip promo.  Only I am perimentapausally challenged and didn't REALIZE that it was a chip and dip.  I remembered it was a promo and special, but I was thinking cinderella set with two missing.  I really am trying to scrape together money for my kids to go to summer camp and I'm trying to only thrift major bargains.  Each bowl was individually marked.  One was $12.99 and one was $7.99.  Not a great price.  I resisted, though it was hard, but around the corner I gasped.  There sat a lidless Cosmopolitan!!!!  It was $8.99.  That one did come home with me.  The cool thing is, we got to lunch and I had a free lunch (Points for a frequented place).  That made me feel better about the Pyrex!  I guess the other good thing is, some other Pyrex crazy person can enjoy the set I left.  I am very happy with what I took home!

This is what I left

Here it what came home!

  1. Love the cosmo! I found it at a thrift with my dad, who almost died when I started squealing and diving for it on the bottom shelf. It's gorgeous! I just passed up an extra lid a couple of weeks ago - you'll have to keep an eye out for one! Love it!

  2. Another question - is yours marked Pyrex or Salton on the bottom? Apparently they're basically the same thing? http://www.pyrexlove.com/cosmopolitan-promotional-casserole-mystery/glassware/
