Pyrex I did not buy!

Almost the end of the year. I saw so much I didn't buy. I have come to that stage. I don't want/need a bunch anymore. Do not get me wrong I LOVE Pyrex, but I do not want to have  rooms and rooms of Pyrex sitting around. I like to look at my stuff and use it.

So here is the some last of it and where to find it.

Snowflake divided dish
Salvation Army, Long Beach, CA
$15

Again I have this one. And again when I went back the next day it was gone. I don't understand why they price so high. I know they have percent off days, but some one. No one thinks they are getting a deal at $15.

Early American 444
Salvation Salvation Army, Long Beach, CA
$9.99

Even though this is priced not as a collectable they still priced it way to high.  The funny thing is they had two other 444s and they were priced at $15 each (do we see a pattern!). Wonder why this guy, to them, is worth less. Maybe because it has a design on it? Ugg

Old Orchard Complete Fridgie Set

I know Old Orchard is not the favorite pattern of the PC community. It may even be labeled as the "ugliest" and least collected.

But there is always one of us right?

I love Old Orchard. It reminds me of home. I have eaten soup from the same 441 my entire life (even taking it with me to college). I like the color brown. I just like everything about it.

And I finally got to complete my set of fridgies last week.  You can see the amount of work I put into it  here at Treasures My Husband Hates.

Pairs perfectly with the wood box and Squirrel Shaker set.

Someone always have to love the "uglies."
That someone is me.

the {left behind} series

thought i'd share a few pictures of the pieces i have left behind this week...you know, in case you happen to be thrifting in southeastern manitoba. ;)

but, first, i had to share what i found today! yay! another piece of butterfly gold (for $7). i just said last week that i needed some more pieces! plus, i found my very first salt and pepper set ($0.25/ea) and it happens to be in a spring blossom pattern, which i also collect. score.

i would love to have this set of spring blossom bowls but at $30, it's a little rich for me. i've noticed that there are some pyrex pieces in my local thrift store that are being tagged differently...and the ones tagged differently are the ones that are expensive. there must have been a pyrex collector out there who decided to donate their collection and kept those price-y tags on them. hmmm. if they want these pieces to move, they're going to have to lower the prices!

an unattractive pyrex england piece that has been sitting on the shelves for months. even though it costs only $2, i don't want it in my house. ;)

these two were super hard to pass up today. one was $3 and the other was $2. and, i already have a piece from this collection but i just didn't have the cash for it today. if they are still there next week, they're making the trip home with me.

another set i'd like but this woodland set was $30.

i bought her pink gooseberry sister last week for $15. so pretty.

am not a fan of old orchard. especially at $5 for this small 401. but, there will be some very happy collector out there who'll snatch it up!

i have one piece of forest fancies but since i'm looking to get rid of it, i thought it'd be best not to pick up another one!

a whole set of forest fancies mixing bowls! again, $30 for the set.

happy thrifting!

My local no name  thrift store was being a real pain this week (see above link) but I managed to get what I wanted. You wanna see my other treasures you can read about them at treasuresmyhh.blogspot.com.

Fridgies

_MG_6111.jpgIt's been awhile since I've posted, but that's not to say that I haven't been out thrifting. I acquired these minty 501s and 502 while making a quick stop thrifting. I mentioned to a friend that I picked them up the Old Orchard fridgies and she said she had the 503 and gave it to me. While it's not my favorite pattern I am a sucker for fridgies.
_MG_6115.jpgMy friend also helped me complete my Butterfly Gold set with the 502.
_MG_6114.jpgNow I've got two completed fridgie sets!
_MG_6032.jpgOn another thrifting morning I spotted these red 501s and debated over whether I should get them or not, but I 'm sucker for fridgies. I got to the checkout counter and asked for an additional discount since they were so beat up. The clerk sold them all to me for just $1.00.
_MG_6036.jpgThey were all priced $1.99 a piece. When I got home I peeled the top sticker off and realized that they were actually all marked for $2.99 orginally. They cleaned up pretty well, but there shine is gone. Still, that's not bad for 4 fridgies.
_MG_6974.jpgAnother friend heard that I needed the blue 502 and brought me her extra one.
_MG_6980.jpgNow I've got another fridgie set completed. The reds are a little off, but that doens't bother me. I just love fridgies. How about you?
