Birthday Pyrex!

Yesterday was my birthday. Of course I got Pyrex.

My mom got me the Designs and I bought myself the Gold Leaf 404.
Why not? My birthday so I can get myself something.
I love myself that much.

I had to show my mom how the designs looks like yoga butts.
Then the fetus was brought up.
What is it with the body and Pyrex?

I also got myself a new toaster. Want to read why?

Hopefully more to come. I need my Pyrex Fix more often.

Happy Almost Spring!

I am so happy to report I found a little pyrex here in SoCal.
It has been dry, or maybe I just haven't been looking for a while.
And yes while not all of this pictures is Pyrex, the Fire King is awesome with the duel candle warmers.

I think I perfected the "Walk & Stalk" with the pink square baker.

Head over to treasuresmyhh.blogspot.com to hear the story of my "Walk & Stalk"

I hope you all that have snow see the sun melt it away soon. It was 90 here in Sunday.
I stayed in a played with my Pyrex.

Until next time

Snowflake Garland - Snow in CA!

I scored big time on craigslist. Well big time for me. As it has been dry here at out thrift stores. Unless you call $24 for 1 - 444 and $39.99 for a 441, 443 and a random fire king scores. I sure do not.

Salvation Army is on meth.

I did get this complete set of Snowflake Garland 480 series from craigslist. The lady said goodbye to them. Saying she always forgot to display them and wanted someone who would love them to have them. I was happy to come home and wash/dry them and proudly display them with my other Snowflakes. I gave them a happy home.

I got some other stuff too from her.
You can head over to Treasures My Husband Hates to check them out.

PIA - Zucchini Ravioli

I love using my Pyrex.
One of my favorite dinners to make is zucchini ravioli.

I get to use my Verde 933 for the job.
I don't like cake (Please don't shoot me) so using these big guys is also hard.

But this stuff to me is like crack. (The food, and the Pyrex)

Oh look, hmmmmm. Snowflake Garland Corelle plates.
It is my little bit of snow here in CA.

I scored some other Snowflake garland this weekend.
I will show you all later this week.

Spring Blossom Cindy!

I think my goal is becoming a reality this year.
I set out to finish sets. I don't need to seat any more new sets.
I have been really good about it too.

This is my latest set completed.

I love it.

Corning Military bowls

Finally I had some luck with acquiring more Pyrex! It is been a little harder lately.
Everything I see I have.

Well last weekend I stopped at Salvation army on my way to another collectors house.
I found 2 ivory military bowls.

They are by far my favorite scores of the weekend. They are huge.
We used them that night for a big salad and they were perfect.

Corning Glass blower stamp
I hope to find some more of the military stuff.

You can head over to

Rodney Kent "Starline"

I would like to apologize. I am up to it again. I am find amazing pieces in the wild.
I found me a Rodney Kent!

The newest guy in my collection

To be exact it is "Starline Series" by Rodney Kent.  It should have lid, but to find the stand and 503 is awesome anyways. Made in the 1950s sometime. Exact date is unknown. Nothing is own about these except the name and sorta the date. YAY! A little mystery.

Do you know anything about these (that isn't in the Pyrex Passion book)??

Going to get ready and go get a bath.

I also got another 503 in a trade.

You can see where and how I found this guy over at

Hope your 2014 is off to a great start.

Spring Blossom Fridgie set

I think not only our weather, but Pyrex is trying to make spring come way to freaking early.

Yesterday I stopped at a few antique malls. One had just about every booth on sale. I did not notice until I was half way done. The signs were all up so high and I am short so I missed them. I had to go back through the entire thing. What a shame (please notice the sarcastic tone in my writing, there needs to be a font for that) I was on the phone with my mom and  I found this 503….. at a really good price (dude and on sale). AND he had his lid!

And now my set is complete.
Lets hope I can finish more of my Spring Blossom in 2014.
I hope you have some luck.

Pyrex I did not buy!

Almost the end of the year. I saw so much I didn't buy. I have come to that stage. I don't want/need a bunch anymore. Do not get me wrong I LOVE Pyrex, but I do not want to have  rooms and rooms of Pyrex sitting around. I like to look at my stuff and use it.

So here is the some last of it and where to find it.

Snowflake divided dish
Salvation Army, Long Beach, CA
$15

Again I have this one. And again when I went back the next day it was gone. I don't understand why they price so high. I know they have percent off days, but some one. No one thinks they are getting a deal at $15.

Early American 444
Salvation Salvation Army, Long Beach, CA
$9.99

Even though this is priced not as a collectable they still priced it way to high.  The funny thing is they had two other 444s and they were priced at $15 each (do we see a pattern!). Wonder why this guy, to them, is worth less. Maybe because it has a design on it? Ugg

Spring in December!

Christmas has come early for me.
Merry Christmas to myself.
I am managing to complete sets this year. YAY!

I picked this 404 up today. Completes my Spring Blossom 400 series.

Not Pyrex but I know a bunch of you love these things.
I do too. A ceramic Christmas tree.
Stupid cheap at Salvation Army.

1960 holiday Promo ~ just in time!

Just in time for the holiday season I completed my 1960 Holiday promo.

I found the cradle last weekend at one of my faithful thrifts.

I also happen to stop by a new one and found the cradle to the Golden Leaf promo. Now if only I could find the freaking bowl to match.  I spent a good 45 minutes in the store finding filler itms to be able to use my debit card. I was not leaving without that darn cradle.

Pink, blue and a promo

Got a few little scores last week.  Nothing much has been surfacing here. I skipped out on the antique flea market today that would have been a guaranteed source of Pyrex. I took the morning instead to sleep in as it is the first time in 5 years I could, in my own bed (kid stayed with his grandpa!) I figured someone else could use a good score.

I don't know why but the horizon blue looks so great with my friendships.

Check out the rest of my blog for more treasures.

Flowers rock!

I have actually had some luck lately.
Not all was bought, some of it I traded for.

Found at Salvation Army.

Did a local trade with a wonderful woman.

Nothing special. Except there was one thing I really wanted and my husband would not let me buy it.

Men!

You can see that over at treasuresmyhh.blogspot.com

I hope your men never stop you from buying something super cool.

I left some for you

I've gotten to that point in my collection where I either have it or I don't like it. How sad.
But happy because that means I am saving money and keeping my house just a little less cluttered.

Some of the ones I left were:

Now I am headed out tomorrow and hope to find something to fill my needs. I hope you have been having more luck than I have.

A Single Snowflake

Man things are so sparse here.

Where has all the Pyrex gone!!!!

Lucky for me I found one piece last week. ONE.

And I saw a rat where I got it. It got a bath, maybe 3.
(see when/where I saw a rat over at treasuresmyhh.blogspot.com)

I love snowflakes.  At least the one piece I did find was a good one.

I hope you are finding more than I am.

A new Cabinet with some Friendship!

Nothing is better for decorating than a really ugly piece of furniture right?
Sure when you can go home and redo it.

I talked the guy down for this shelf and redid it.
That same week I found a friendship 933 at a different thrift.

For 3 weeks this is all I have found that I did not already have. I am dying here!

Send me some good vibes! I will return the favor and send everyone some too!

Percolater Parts! I found them all!

I found where all those percolator parts are hiding. In a dinky town in the middle of Michigan! That is where I found all these (I didn't buy all of them!) at a flea market.
They have bodies of percolators too.

I had a blast thifting in a different state last month.
I didn't like having to take this all on a plane with me.
You can see all the details  over at treasuresmyhh.blogspot.com

So if you live in the middle of nowhere in Michigan I will gladly share with you where all those percolator parts have been hiding. Fair warning, there is odd stuff at this flea market..... you might want to carry hand sanitizer. (see the details at the link above regarding the gross thing I found, I won't burn your eyes here)

Sandalwood

I was lucky enough to get my Grandmother's pyrex when they had to put her in assisted living.

She has to be one of the most awesome people ever.
You can read her "paint the town red" story over at treasures my husband hates.

Some of it I had to leave back at my mother's house. I did however get these home with me.

Sandalwood 471 & 473. Barbed Wire divided dish
I don't mind they are chipped and faded a little. Reminds me of the food that was cooked in them. Sometimes the Pyrex that is valued the most is the stuff closet to our hearts.

Black Rooster

While on vacation I spent a few days in Flint, Michigan.
I am sorry to all who live there. Your thrift stores are junk. I hope you all are finding more than I did.  At least you have fatty amazing food.

I did however come home with this guy:

My Mother-in-law gave him to me.  Along with metal lid and glass lid. I just need the cradle.
I think she may like me. I got very lucky to have such a wonderful Mother-in-law.

All the other stuff I found was boring. You can check that out at treasuresmyhh.blogspot.com ~ flint mi dearest to my heart

Antiques in Michigan

It happened to me again!

Someone refused to sell me some vintage Pyrex in a store.  About a year ago our local thrift shop wouldn't sell me some Pyrex and other goodie they had out because they were waiting for a certain date. Why put it out if you won't sell it? Needless to say I got there on that date first thing and grabbed up my pretties.

Not how it happened again. I went to this little hardware store in Detroit, Michigan while on vacation. We (my cousin and I) wanted to purchase a butterprint 501 with lid she had.  It was not marked with a price so we asked.  The lady said it wasn't for sale. Um....... huh? She told us she only sold them as sets and so if it wasn't with a set she wouldn't sell it. Well she had a set of them but this was just another random 501 she had. So we put it back. Then she must have thought, "oh I'll throw out a price and they will for sure buy it since it will look like I'm doing them a favor." $6, no lid.

Needless to say we bought very little, nothing that wasn't priced. And got out of there.

This is all I got.

Thankfully the antique store we went to was much better and everything was priced and priced fabulous!

I managed to finish my Bake, Serve & Store set of Spring Blossom and my Primary set.

And no one refused to sell them to me.

See the completed sets over at treasuresmyhh.blogspot.com
