Friday's thrift finds

I finally was able to get to the thrift stores this Friday after 2 weeks of being stuck in the house!
I was so happy and excited to see what I would find!

I found this ORANGE Autumn Harvest in the GW. I have NEVER seen this color before in this pattern..usually it is a 2 QT. Below is all of the Autumn harvest mixing bowls that I have. I have not seen one in along time and it is one of my favorite patterns.

It was $3.00 @ GW.

I recently lost the Pyrex Turquoise Dinnerware set! Complete for setting of 8!

I was willing to pay for it on eBay, but someone outbid me and I was not home to watch it.

I was very upset but I knew I was going thrifting on Friday.

I came across these beauties in a GW! Although it is not a lot of pieces I still grabbed them and took them home with me!

These are the Flamingo Pyrex dinnerware with the gold trim. 

I did not think I would like to gold trim, but when I cleaned them up they looked beautiful!

I LOVE them!

It came with 3 saucers, 4 dinner plates & 4 snack plates.

They were $1.00 a piece! So it was $11.00 for all!

Now I just need to build on them to make a setting for 8.

I also found this "Sandlewood" casserole dish. It was $3.00 but I picked it up because it was very fall like and I love the fall! Came without Lid

I found this promotional casserole dish at RWB! It was $5.95 but it came with the holder!!!

But when I was unwrapping it to show my husband I noticed that one of the handles broke! =(

So now I have no holder! I am searching on eBay for the same holder but no luck!

It is a nice piece anyway, because it has grapes on it and I love fruit!

When I tried to look this pattern up on PyrexLove.com they did not have this pattern on there!!

So I tried to research it more and some people called this pattern "Golden Casserole"

Does anyone know what the name of this pattern is?

I bought this Pyrex carafe at GW. It came without a lid but I liked the decals on it and it is in pretty good condition!

I bought this for $3.00.

These are beautiful teal wine glasses. They are by the Indiana glass company, the pattern is called "Park Lane".

I found these at Savers, 8 glasses!

I already have the water goblets of 8, and sherbet glasses (8)

and cordial glasses (8) so this just added to my beautiful set!

I love these because they are made very well and are heavy!

All I need now is the tumblers and plates and I have the full set!

Guess how much these costs???....

I found these awesome glasses at RWB.

They are so colorful! and very springy!

They were 0.95 cents each.

I believe these are made by Federal glass company.

I found this "French onion soup" bowl at GW for $2.00. 

I have another one that I bought at the GW awhile ago same color but different design!

I love these soup bowls with the lids! They are very cute!

I bought this funky 60's cheese board at RWB. I love the colors it is so retro!

It also came with the cheese knife.

Can't wait to use this around the holidays.

I got this at one of the Savers that I went to.

finally got around to these...

I picked up all of these, well, probably a few months ago at this point. They've been sitting in my cabinet waiting for a little love, which I finally got around to this weekend. They were all in good shape, just needed a little cleaning.

I grabbed the Terra plate and bowls at Savers. I almost missed them since they weren't in the usual Pyrex area.

I'm not usually a fan of the speckled backgrounds, but I broke my rules to pick up this Forest Fancies #474 Casserole. What can I say? The mushrooms are pretty adorable.

Another Butterfly Gold for the collection. It's not really my favorite pattern, but I come across a lot of it in very good condition and can't seem to pass it up.

And then there's my favorite find. An unmarked Eyes chip and dip set. In really good condition. The color is still really bright and there are only a few minor scratches in the pattern. I found this at a local antique store and was surprised the seller did not know it was Pyrex since they primarily sold glassware. I still ended up paying antique store prices, but it was still a fraction of what I would have paid on Ebay.

Birthday Pyrex, gifts and finds.

I've been a giant procrastinator. My birthday is in mid August and I still haven't posted all of the lovely things that I got myself/received.

I got this from my Mom.

I already had the smaller bowl, the woman I was buying the set from dropped and smashed the bigger bowl. I've never gotten over it so my sweet Mom bought me the bigger bowl for my birthday. :D  I plan on ordering a chip and dip bracket from etsy.

My Mom and I went antique-ing and ate at this really lovely wine cafe for my birthday outing. These are some of the things I got that day from different antique stores.

                             An embroidery space saver. I wasn't even sure about the pattern when I got it lol

                                I thought it was pressed flowers! After a few months I've decided that I just like it I don't love it so I think I'm going to sell it. I met this wonderful seller named Vicki from Goat Feathers. If you're ever passing through Boulder City, NV I suggest you go there. Lots of goodies at decent prices.

                               

I completed my Primary fridgie set! I got a 501 and the 503 that day. I pretty much had compete in Mortal Combat for the 501, I had to deal with the most unpleasant seller ever. I brought it to her and asked how much it was because it didn't have a sticker and she all but accused me of taking it off. She then acted offended when I asked if she could take the tape off the lid so I could see it in the light to see if it had any damage. She was completely offended and said it was in perfect condition, it wasn't.

I've been wanting the Autumn Harvest set since I started collecting. It's one of my favorites I've only ever found one beat up piece. I decided that I was just going to bite the bullet and buy some off ebay.

 

I'm glad I did, I love them! I got them at a really great price, $14. Now I'm on the hunt for the 404.

Another set that I've been wanting is the Butterprint mixing bowl set. I've come across two bowls in person and they were DWD. I looked around on ebay for a couple months and was going to give up because they were just way out of my price range when I came across a listing for "Butterpring bowls" Oh yes, hello lovely typo! 

 I snagged them for $40! They arrived in a terrifyingly small box but they were fine. I use them and love them very, very much. 

Here are some gifts I've received in the last few months from my patron saint of Pyrex, Shelia.

 My first and only Sandalwood to date!

I actually found the smallest brown bowl shortly after she got me these. Town and Country is the set I grew up with so these are really special to me.

This woman is so generous, this isn't even half the stuff she's gotten me in the last 6 months, I just haven't taken pictures of all of it. lol She really loves thrifting but says she doesn't have any space in her house for stuff.

Some of my own finds

I stumbled upon a complete set of TM Primary bowls at Good Will of all places and nearly wet myself. They weren't even where they normally keep the pyrex. I got them for $9!

few {new} pieces

i just can't find good deals on pyrex anymore and it's totally frustrating. thankfully, i'm making a road trip to the united states this weekend and i'm optimistic that i'll find some good deals!

below is the collection of pieces i picked up this past weekend at value village. the spring blossom pieces were $2.99 and the JAJ england piece was $3 but worth it because i absolutely love that pattern. the large 404 is my very first teal piece! it was $6 but i couldn't pass it up either! lol

then there are the pieces left behind. check out these insane prices at my local thrift store! $8 for a gravy boat and $6 for that tiny cinderella bowl? gah! even though i collect spring blossom, that was too rich for me. *sad :(

and there were these over-loved pieces that were selling for $2 each. sad for their rough condition but happy they lived a good life. :)

Savers Pyrex Haul

My local Savers always seems to have some Pyrex in stock... it's not always in the best shape or listed at the best price, but it's there.  I try to head over there at least once a week to see what's going on, but I found myself there a handful of times over the last two weeks and managed to pick up a few pieces.

I debated on the Zodiac casserole for a few days - the gold had some cracks, it was missing the lid - but decided to go for it in the end.  The Verde Square Flowers is my first piece in this pattern, and I'm pretty into it.  The Spring Blossom Butterfly butter dish is actually my first butter dish.

 

I had never seen the Terra Cotta Rose casserole before, so I definitely had to pick that up.

 

Finally, I grabbed a 1.5 quart Butterfly Gold casserole with lid.  I rarely come across any Pyrex at thrift stores that have lids, let alone a patterned lid.

I went back last weekend, but apparently my streak had to come to an end.  They still had the same pieces in stock that I saw the previous time I went and they either weren't in great shape or I just didn't feel the need to add them to my collection.  Though that was on Sunday, so it's probably time for another trip over there!

Persistence Pays Off

So, this weekend there were several estate sales in my area. In the pics posted online I saw Pyrex at a few of them, so I was stoked! I got up at 8 on Saturday morning (which is super early for me since I work the late shift during the week) and headed out! At the first one I found a set of Butterfly Gold (401-403) in great shape. But they were asking $20 and it's not my favorite pattern, so I passed. At the next one, they had lots of other cools stuff, but  still no Pyrex. =(

At the last sale, there were several 024 dishes (red solid, flamingo, lime) but all were dishwasher damaged, so, I left them all behind. I did find a really awesome navy hat and necklace, but, alas, I still left with NO PYREX!!

On my way home, I stopped at a yard sale and found a pink milk glass dish (I have wanted pink milk glass FOREVER!!) and two really cute, fire king, violet mugs, but, again, no Pyrex.

So I decided this was just not weekend. But little did I know, it wasn't over yet!!

On Sunday my aunt sent me an email about another estate sale, so I decided to go after church. I got there right before closing, and in addition to the normal 1/2 off they usually do on Sundays, they were taking an additional half off of that. Sweet!! I went to the kitchen and at first scan, no Pyrex. Before I could make a closer inspection I was distracted by a beautiful orange and red enameled stock pot.

I was elated because it was $2.50 after the mark down and i LOVED it!! As the lady was writing up my ticket, I glanced over at the opposite side of the kitchen and something red behind several baking dishes caught my eye. That looks like the red of the Celtic dish, I thought. But no, I reasoned, it can't be, or it wouldn't still be here. Yet, as I approached it, I saw that, lo and behold, it was the Celtic dish!!! And it was marked $4 (Which I would have gladly paid). But, with the 75% off, I got it for $1!!!!!!!!

I could not believe it!!!!! I have wanted this dish for so long! And I finally found it for $1!!!! I actually almost just bought it on eBay for $15, but I missed the end of the bid. I guess I was meant to miss it!! I also found the daisy/sunflower casserole and it was also $1! Aaaa!!! I think this is my best find EVER!!!

Floating on Air

 My father is a better pyrexer than I am...

I have been thinking about chip and dip sets. I don't have any (Well, I do have the turquoise square chip bowl), and since turquoise is my favorite color to collect- I thought, wouldn't it be great to find the hot air balloon promotional?! I saw it for $90 on etsy. Too steep.

Well, my father made a pit stop to a local flea, and voila! Chip and dip set (no hanger though)! Thrilled :) and it is in near mint condition. I'm surprised at how big the dip bowl seems~ but that's a good thing, and it's fabulous! The gentleman selling it said $45 firm, but my father "the picker" did $50 for this set, and two other pieces. Woo hoo! The man also said, "if your daughter doesn't like it, bring it next week and I'll buy it back." WOW! Nice guy, but I LOVE IT! Now, I just need to find a hanger...
