Sqaure Flowers!

I want to know if I am the only one here who does this.  Then I go to post on my personal blog I always come here to show you all. But I won't post if someone had posted say an hour or two before me. So I wait a day. Giving the Pyrex Community time to really read and look at all the pretty stuff. Am I weird? Like I don't want t take the spotlight way from the last person that posted only a few hours before I wanted to.

So in case any of you didn't see my personal blog post over at treasuresmyhh.blogspot.com yesterday, My month long drought has been broken.  We all know the feeling of joy when that happens.

This 503 Square flowers is what broke it. And it was priced just right.  Yeah no lid, but at this point I was happy to find anything I needed/wanted.  I was so happy, it even got a "in the car" picture.

Any of you having a drought I hope it lifts soon.

Happy Hunting

Pyrex in Hiding... for the moment.

It was a good weekend last week. I am "this close" to finishing my Spring Blossom Cinderella set. I just need the 441.

I hit up a few thrifts before a camping trip. I think when you are in a hurry things just make their way into your car. Like all of this. Some of it is still in my car and my husband has no idea I bought that Cosco rolling cart. I have to find a place to put it still.

I do't normally hide things from him but I know I will get the look with this one.

Do you hide your treasures and slowly integrate them in?
I hear many people do.
Thankfully my treasure hater husband puts up with my shenanigans.

Clear Fridgie Set!

A few weekends ago I had to go to Palm Springs about 2 hours away to watch my hubby's film at a film festival. He is so sweet. He let me go thrifting while him and my son went and saw Superman.

The film my hubby produced.
There wasn't much there in terms of Pyrex but man they have a ton of thrift stores in Cathedral City!

My best score was a clear fridge set. Yeah newer stamps, but all with lids and in great condition. It would be the only clear Pyrex I own now.

You can see my other finds at treasures my husband hates.

Until then, check out the trailer for his film over at Vimeo

Cleaning house, bye bye Pyrex!

Sad day but I have decided to clear out my house of some unwanted pyrex and other goodies.

Uh I may shed a tear.

Or not, leaves room for more new goodies for me!

I may or may not get a booth at a local mall. I have been toying the idea for a while. I just don't know how that works. Anyone have any tips?

Spring Blossom Fridgies!

Lookie what I got. Or am getting, they are in Michigan, my cousin got them for me.
(Read that story here at treasures my husband hates)

That 503 finishes my Spring Blossom Fridgie Set.

For a total score of $5.55.

I wish I could find those prices here in CA.

My first eBay purchase

Hello PC3, SusieQT here from Practice in Time.

I must really be into this Pyrex thing, because I just did something I swore I would never do: buy Pyrex on eBay! I even said it in this very space- "I prefer the thrill of the hunt, and I would never buy Pyrex online!"

Ouch. It hurts when words come back to bite you.

But in my defense, it was pink, and it was a good deal. Did I mention it was pink?

$9.99 plus shipping.

And I have to say that the seller did a phenomenal job with the packing. I was really worried, seeing some of the eBay horror stories, about the condition it might arrive in. But I think I got my money's worth in bubble wrap alone (I will be re-using it; that stuff is expensive!), not to mention a beautiful pink 503.

So what brought about the change of heart?

Well, seeing some of the alternative sets some of you guys have put together inspired me. I had this idea to make an alternative set of 503s, and just needed the pink one to finish it:

I do love these colors together.
And it proves that Primary (the yellow 503) can coexist with my pink, turquoise and black.
See, it's all about rationalization!

On a hot streak!

Oh yeah! Susie QT here from Practice in Time.

Hot on the heels of my post on Thursday, where I snagged two Butterprint 503s, a 502 and a Flamingo baker, I scored again!

This time I went back to the same thrift store- they were having a sale on kids clothing- and got a bunch of clothes. I usually never thrift on Saturday- the thrifts are crowded and picked over- but it was the only day of the sale, so I went. I figured I might find some more from the Butterprint set! But it was not to be. No Pyrex at all! I did get plenty of clothes for my son for $1 each though, and a killer Harris Tweed jacket for my Etsy store...

But you all have spoiled me. Now if I don't find Pyrex, I'm all depressed!

So on my way home I stopped at the local Sally Ann. I hate this store- it is huge, but hardly has any housewares. Plus it's crowded and nasty...so I hardly ever go there. But every once in a while I do and sometimes I score big!

There in the back of the store, sitting all by itself on a nearly empty shelf was this beauty:

A turquoise 503 with old style lid, in mint condition! For $4.99? Yes!
It's my first solid turquoise piece, but will go just fine with my Butterprint and Starburst promo space saver.

So if you're keeping track at home, that's 3 turquoise/Butterprint 503s thrifted in less than 3 days. Let's hope the hot streak continues!
