Suddenly....Pyrex!

It seems like there's been so little Pyrex to find lately...then just in the last few days it's everywhere!  I even had to leave stuff behind.  Usually I'm lucky to see anything, and the prices are jacked up if I do, so I leave them behind.

It started with a Pyrex search on Craig's List.  This would be my second purchase on there, and both were equally great.  I said before that I'm not a pink and turquoise girl, and I'm not.  However, I love the small 444 and I love fridgies, and it IS nice to branch out a little.  I sold the round casserole to a friend and kept the rest.  The Pyrex was dirt cheap and in mint condition:

Then, my husband came across this for my Christmas Pyrex collection:
(OK, so it's turquoise too...maybe I do like it ;))

Then there was the discovery of my first Hostess.  Only $3.99 at VV.  It had lots of scratches but came right out with a little Bon Ami and a sponge.  Oh yes, I have a thing for cow creamers too...and vintage trays, and tins, and bread boxes, and aprons.... (Luckily I discovered I can sell stuff too...so it all equals out ;)

Ahhh...the Citrus pitcher.  I saw one once, and didn't get it...wasn't in the budget that month.  Well, it found me again and was half the price of the last one!  So glad I waited :)

I love the 404's too...any of the small bowls look so good stacked and are fun to use. ($2 at a local shop)

So....there IS hope for us Pyrex crazy's in the wild :)

"Charcoal" Snowflake & Pink Daisy

I got two awesome treasures that I found at two different thrift shops last week.
It was a big score in my book!

I found the "Charcoal" Snowflake pattern by Pyrex at Savers. I always do a double check or sometimes a third check around the aisle to see if I missed anything and I did!
I spotted this at the last minute, and I grabbed it right away!
It is very unique for one, and two it is suppose to be rare? Or so I heard.

I got this lovely piece for ONLY $1.99!
Does anyone know more about this "Charcoal" piece?

And then I got this beauty! Pink Daisy! So cute. Sadly these both have no lids but that is okay I will hunt down and find some!

I got this Pink Daisy Pyrex divded dish for $3.95 at the RWB thrift.

Doesn't these two patterns look great together?!

Hits and Misses

Hi there, SusieQT here from Practice in Time! I've been doing a lot of thrifting and no posting lately. (Bad...bad...) But I have bought some Pyrex and thought I'd share it with you all.

First up is a Golden Acorn space saver- full disclosure: I don't collect this pattern, and I really don't even like it (what's with the screen-printed look to the design? So un-Pyrex-like!) But the price was right ($1) and I thought I might be able to resell it in my booth. (Apologies to those of you that do like it; I just don't really go for the gold leaf stuff.)

I'm trying really hard to just stick to patterns that I collect and promotionals, but sometimes finding a good deal gets the best of me. (I am feeling pretty good about myself today, though, since I just passed up a set of Verde casseroles minus the lids at Sally Ann. That was hard to do.)

Then I found this Constellation divided dish yesterday for $3. It's a 1959 promo piece and I do like the atomic starbursts. Not sure if I will keep it though- I have two divided dishes already and they don't stack well for display (always a plus in my book!) It was pretty dirty, but I thought I'd take a chance on seeing if it would clean up.

And after spending a some serious time with Mr. Clean and his magic eraser, I still haven't quite gotten a rust stain off the outer side. I'm beginning to think this one will stay around for a while! My shoulders are actually sore from all the magic eraser-ing...maybe time for something a little stronger. Any advice? The rust mark is right on top of the design, so I can't really do anything too abrasive.

Fall Baking with Snowflake

Now that fall is here and winter will be around the corner, I love baking with my Snowflake pieces.  This was the piece that started it all for me!  My mom gave this to me as a Christmas present one year, when I first started college because I "loved snowflakes".  Little did she know, I would start a collecting passion.  I would scour our local Goodwill and Saint Vinnie's store, in search of more Snowflake pieces.  I was pretty good for about 10 years, only sticking to Snowflake pieces, but that has changed in the last few years--picking up other patterned pieces here and there.

Just made pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting the other night and the hubby loves them!  I love how Pyrex is so fun to display but also entirely useful!

It would be fun to know how or why the rest of you started collecting Pyrex too:)

Possibly Glasbake item?

Hello all, this is my first post on here!
I have been thrift shopping for the past 2 weeks and last week came across this item below.

I bought it for $3.95 (no lid) and I really liked the pattern of the yellow flowers.
I checked the bottom and saw no markings of a company on it!! I was a little taken back, but saw this bubble pattern on the bottom of it, which the company Glasbake has on their items. I purchased it anyway, I came home and researched and did see this pattern on Glasbake items but it has Glasbake name on the back, so could this possibly be a misprint or just a replica of the Glasbake pattern?? Any suggestions?

My September Finds

Here's some of the pieces I found this past month...

We usually go to the thrift and antique shops a few times a week, but life has just been super hectic lately and we're down to about once every other week!
I feel like I'm probably missing out on a bunch of awesome pieces!!!!

Spring Blossom Collection

In the fast few months since starting my collection of pyrex, I have collected the most pieces from the Spring Blossom collection.

About a month and a half ago I came across my biggest pyrex finds yet.
