My ten-year-old made this for me as a Christmas gift.
Does she know her mom or what?
If I had found one, I was planning on selling it on eBay and buying tickets to Egypt to visit my sister and her family. "Lucky in Love" could finance that, right?
Okay, enough dreaming. I went shopping at GW a couple days before Valentine's Day, and found my very first Pink Gooseberry! Believe it or not, I've never even seen a PG in person.
This shade of pink is so pretty.
I immediately texted my Pyrex Friend with a photo, and she rejoiced with me. Pyrex Friends, both online and in real life, are invaluable. It's just a little 441, in absolutely lovely condition, only $2.99 (total bargain around these parts).

That is a great find!
ReplyDeleteI know! This particular GW used to runneth over with Pyrex, and nowadays one piece in bad condition is the norm. So randomly finding mint-condition pieces always suprises & delights me.
DeleteFirst, Margaret Ann, your daughter's drawing is absolutely adorable!!! How exciting--your first piece of pink Gooseberry! I know--pink Gooseberry is so hard to find around here too. When we find a piece it is big cause for celebration! How fitting for your find to be so close to Valentine's day!

Thanks for the compliments on the drawing :). I love it. I, too, loved that I found this piece right before Valentine's Day.
DeleteGreat Pyrex piece & cute drawing!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't keep Lucky In Love either. I would sell it. There is someone out there who would appreciate it more than me & I would buy a few pieces that I find more desirable than Lucky In Love.
Your comment made me laugh. My husband and I have had multiple conversations about what we would do with Lucky In Love. It's funny--it's not nearly close to being my favorite piece, but it's massive inaccessibility has me thinking about it way more than any other Pyrex.
