catching up

it's been quite awhile since i've posted on here with my latest pyrex finds! i've been putting them all on instagram so i thought i'd quickly catch up and post some of the recent pix here too. enjoy! :)

my 401s...

a set of old town salt and pepper shakers!

spring blossom salt and pepper shakers go well with the verde round casserole set.

round casseroles for everyone! loving the colour combos.

a beautiful new butterfly gold piece for my collection.

a clear-bottomed primary yellow bowl. i was really surprised to see it marked as pyrex but i believe it's one of the new types of pyrex and not part of any vintage collection.

a mini-blue fridgie with lid (my first fridgie lid!). the blue primary casserole is in amazing condition and it doesn't have a size listed on the bottom...doesn't that imply that it is quite old? just as the original primary mixing bowls didn't have sizes listed either?

lovely oval casseroles.

happy pyrex hunting!

Finally, a pink casserole!

Hi all, SusieQT here from Practice in Time!

I can't believe, after however many years of collecting Pyrex and never finding any pink, that I have found two pieces in two weeks.

You may recall my previous post here about finding a pink fridgie, and now I have a Flamingo casserole to go with it!

Last Saturday, our town had its community-wide yard sale (love those!). At the first place I stopped at, I spied this beauty in mint condition. For $1. You can bet that I carried it around with me the rest of the day!

I love these casseroles (is there a 'correct' name for them? I'm drawing a blank...) They are a perfect size for many recipes. I have a clear one that I use just about all the time (and the beauty of that one is that it can go in the dishwasher :). I've been on the lookout for another in any color or pattern, but never even let myself think I might find a pink one. I'm thrilled!

I also found this Old Town covered margarine dish the other day at a thrift store for $1. I don't collect this pattern, but my grandmother had the matching Corelle dishes, so it has some sentimental attachment. I found a use for it right away; while we don't use margarine in our house, I do use a lot of cream cheese in a brick. It's a perfect size to keep that partial brick of cream cheese once the wrapper is opened. Much classier than a zip-top bag, right?

lids, and fridgies and knock-offs, oh my!

i was super excited when a friend of mine unexpectedly dropped by earlier this week with two beautiful friendship bird lids! i was nervous that they wouldn't fit any of my pieces but i totally lucked out and one of my casserole dishes found its match!

today i went to my local thrift store...i only go in if there is a prime parking spot available--that's always my sign that i should enter the store! i need to limit myself and that's how i do it! :)

well, i found these two fantastic tiny fridgies (they are primary red 501-Bs). they came without lids but if my experience earlier this week with lids has taught me anything, i'm sure that i'll find those lids sometime in the future!

i also then spotted this casserole dish. it looked like it was blue old town pyrex but when i flipped it over it was actually glass bake. but, the pattern was so similar that i had to buy it (ruth, if you're reading this and you want this dish...it's yours! i bought it with you in mind. if not, back to the thrift store it goes for someone else to love.)

not the best week for pyrex hunting ever, but it was fairly successful! how were your weeks in the hunt for pyrex?
