My Pyrex display on my kitchen cabinets!

I finally got the courage and took down my collection of vintage pitchers from my kitchen cabinets!
I love love love vintage pitchers, love their unique decals and the sturdiness of the pitchers.
I had them up there for about a year and a half and have been loving them but now since I am addicted to Pyrex and they are invading all of my space in my kitchen(I do not mind!) I needed more space and decided to add Pyrex to display on top of my kitchen cabinets.
My husband gave me the idea to keep some of the pitchers and color coordinate with the Pyrex to the pitchers (which I did).

I am still playing with it but I want your opinion.
do you like the pyrex mixed with the vintage pitchers? OR do you think it should be all Pyrex?

I have mixed feelings, I am not sure yet...I like it but i dont know if it could be better.

I also have some Pyrex ads that I want to frame this weekend and was thinking if I take the pitchers away I would add some framed Pyrex ads to this....any ideas?????

  1. I think that you should do whatever you like! I have all kinds of ecletic displays around my house. My decorating theory has always been that if I like it, I decorate with it. I don't adhere to just one theme. So if you want to mix vintage pithers in with your Pyrex, then gor for it! Two things that you love will go great together.

  2. Your display is awesome. Now, what did you put inside the bowls to keep them high enough to see?

    1. Thank you!!! I actually put plastic containers small round ones. I did not have enough though...I am going to go to the craft store over the weekend and get maybe square foam? Maybe that will do the trick too!

    2. I have Pyrex displayed on the top of my kitchen cabinets too. I used old college books to create height. I knew they'd come in handy again some day! lol

  5. I LOVE the mixture of the pyrex and the vintage pitchers. I think it looks great, and I also second Erica's decorating theory-it should be something you enjoy looking at. I keep saying I am going to frame some of my pyrex ads, but haven't got around to it yet. I am not crafty at all (unfortunately)so I want to know, how do you cut the ad out neatly? Do you just use a scissors?

    1. Thank you...just wanted some imput on the display! I love hearing other peoples ideas too.

Is your Pyrex ad still in the magazine? Mine are already cut out and I bought them that way.

You can use a scissor if they are still attached to the magazine. Just be careful!

    2. The ads are still in the magazine-I collect old magazines whenever I can, and imagine my joy when I come across the pyrex ads! I am so not crafty- I honestly can't cut a straight line with a scissors-it is very sad ;)My husband actually has a very steady hand, so I might have him do it.

Just a thought, you seem to have some great thrift stores by you-if you look for magazines from the 50's and 60's-the ones for women-you are almost sure to find some great pyrex ads.

    3. Oh I see! Love vintage magazines! You can also buy a Paper trimmer where you put the paper on the paper trimmer and it cuts a straight line, you can buy it at the craft store.

You know, I haven't seen any magazines at the thrift stores I go too, maybe one day! I will deff look out because I usually buy them in antique centers..But hopefully I can find some magazines soon
