The Great Gravy Boat Giveaway

I'm not exactly sure when THIS...

... turned into all of THIS:

But I do know that I need to cull the collection, somewhat.

In my first post on the collective, I mentioned how I scored that Pink Daisy casserole for only $5. What I neglected to mention was how I found that little Butterfly Gold 401 pictured above soon after, and that's really when the collection kicked off.

I'm still not sure how I acquired so much, particularly in such a small kitchen.

To celebrate my six-month blogiversary on my own blog, I'm giving away a Butterfly Gold gravy boat and underplate. Just head over to Typing Sunflowers, to the Great Gravy Boat Giveaway, and a leave a comment on that post for your chance to win!

Contest is open to anyone until April 30th. Winners will be chosen at random and announced on my blog May 1st.

(And yes, contest is open to those outside of the USA. I travel a lot, and I believe Pyrex should be available in all countries. In fact, I'm feeling so generous, that I'll even pay for the shipping.)

They Were Really Heavy...

A few weekends back I visited my home town for some shopping. Originally it was just supposed to be at Ikea, but last minute we decided to hit up all my old favorite thrift shops. I'm beyond glad that I did!

I found the above set of Pyrex dishes, loads of them actually. There were piles of them, I only picked up 24. I'm not 100% sure I needed them, but I'm glad they came home with me

I also found all the pieces in the second photo, two new gravy boats, some casseroles and a little fridgie!

you can read more about this thrift trip on my blog, and you see a bunch of my pyrex collection here!.

More Butterfly Gold

I didn't feel like doing anything productive today so it seemed that a trip to Goodwill was in order.  I was so bummed that I didn't find any Pyrex there that I did something that I never do....I went to the Salvation Army.  Since the Salvation Army closest to me built a nice new big store they tend to overprice everything and I don't go there.  I was glad I did though.  I got this perfect condition Butterfly Gold gravy boat and saucer.  My little collection is slowly growing. :-)

Since the Goodwill store near my house has been spoiling me with $3.25 for 4 quart bowls and $12.25 for a four piece set of bowls,  I was a little unhappy about the $7.00 price tag on this set.  I'm not sure if that is good price or a high price but I wanted it.
