New Pyrex Collective & Pyrex's 100th Anniversary

Hello Pyrex people! I'm just writing to let you know that we have just opened up PCIV. I wish we could somehow amalgamate all of these blogs. If anyone can pay off someone at Blogger so that we can do that, or if there's just a simpler way of making this happen, please email me (Canadian Erin) at monkeyintherocket@yahoo.ca. Here is the link for PCIV Pyrex Collective IV . Thanks again to Jeni of In Color Order for her amazing photography and photo montage.

I am letting Pyrex lovers know about a film that has been made about manufacturing in American. Pyrex features in this film. Please check out the YouTube link and the people behind this project are inviting Pyrex people (us) to fire off any questions regarding Pyrex, including new Pyrex.
Here is the press release information: Pyrex joins a national movement in This Built America that is devoted to supporting American companies and American-made products. AOL is proud to support the effort along with sponsor Ford Trucks. Through the year, the editorial and video teams will explore 50 states in 50 weeks to bring 50 stories of the people who are bringing back manufacturing to America. The platform is produced in coordination with Man Made Content.

Here is the YouTube link:

Please email your questions regarding Pyrex or the film to: me and I will forward the to the powers that be: monkeyintherocket@yahoo.ca I will forward questions and repost on all Pyrex Collectives as soon as possible. Happy Pyrexing and keep blogging and reading! Canadian Erin.

Adding to a Growing Collection

It's been forever since I felt I had added anything to my Pyrex collection worth sharing. However, I have recently come across a few pieces I have added to my Pyrex horde and here is one photographed and ready to share. The horizon blue lasagna pan! I was excited to see it in a new dealers booth at my antique mall. I didn't get it for a steal but I did get it for a more than reasonable price. I am happy to add it to my growing collection of lasagna pans. Until last summer I didn't have even 1 of these pans in my collection. Now, I have 4! I have the orange and butterfly gold which were found in the wild (estate sale and garage sale) and friendship and horizon blue both found in captivity (antique mall and collections). It's just a matter of time before I buy one from online. But these pans are heavy so shipping is expensive. Here's to hoping all my collection can be had without buying them online and paying outrageous shipping lol Yeah right!

Have a wonderful Cherry Picked week ya'll! Come visit me over at cherrypickedfinds.blogspot.com and see the unusual Beetland vintage freezer/fridge I discovered.

Pink and Turquoise

Pink and turquoise only fit in one place in my house and that's in my little pink room.  It was time for a new look so today I put together this display of things I don't use (there is plenty in the kitchen) but love to look at!

(still hopelessly addicted),

I Love Pyrex Bakeware and Fridgies

We recently moved from a tiny house to an even tinier house. Unfortunately it has resulted in my having to slowly rheum a lot of my collection. BUT! One portion of my collection that will always be with me is my bakeware. I am an avid baker, and I use it all the time. I prefer the older bakeware with the rounded handles, except for the Daisy bakeware set. I am also not a fan of the printed pieces, excepting, of course, the Friendship 933.

This is my current bakeware, all on a Cosco cart restored by my husband. Unfortunately, I had a breakage during my move. An unnamed family member was careless with a box and it resulted in a broken Turquoise 22 and Pale Yellow 231. I can't talk about it too much or I get weepy; I am still sad.

Oh, and pie plates. I have a lot of those, including a couple Agee pieces. Those fluted edges get me every single time.

And this is my current fridgie hoard. I am actually working on downsizing this, as there are even more you don't see pictured that were actually in use in the refrigerator! I have a lid for every single one of these.

Moving really opened my eyes to everything I have: not just Pyrex, but also Fire King, Hazel Atlas, and others. It is amazing how fast it all accumulates!

Happy hunting!
Jacquelyn
