Bar Keepers Friend

Hello my Pyrex Buddies,

Over the years people have written about the proper way to clean vintage Pyrex. Bar Keepers Friend is a name that has popped up frequently as a cleaning agent that works for removing some stains from vintage Pyrex.

I was approached in good spirit by a representative from Bar Keepers Friend to do some publicity for the product. They have generously offered the gift basket you see pictured for each of the three Pyrex Collectives.

Do you have an idea for a contest?

Please email me with ideas. I will take submissions by the end of the weekend and hope to launch the contest next Monday.

Sincerely,
Canadian Erin

Bakeware Love

I took this picture a few days ago. It's the majority of my bakeware; some of it was in actual use at the time (nectarine and blueberry cobbler in the oven, yum!).

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this is only a very small portion of my collection. It has really grown over the last couple of years. Even though I have purged a few times I keep hauling more stuff in. I just can't seem to help myself. In fact, I've had to rearrange these shelves to accommodate a couple other pieces.

Happy hunting!

Towering Turquoise!

Though I don't post here as often as I once did, my addiction to Pyrex continues!  Finding some of the things I would love to have isn't happening in the wild, and so I continue trading--which has been a lot of fun!  I had to come and share my latest trade, a JAJ Gaiety gravy boat in turquoise snowflake.  Though I have both pieces, I couldn't help but take a picture of her center stage on my other turquoise bowls.

(Hoplessly addicted),

Evie

Sister, Sister Pyrex Hunter in Training!

Over the last several years, I have been slowly educating my sister about my love and obsession with vintage Pyrex. She has acquired many bowls on my behalf and frequently text me pictures of finds from yard sales, antique stores and friends cupboards. Lol

The most recent find was the best so far! A vintage Pyrex lasagna pan. As, collectors we all know that these particular pans can be pricey. Also, for me they have been very hard to find outside of ebay. So, you can imagine my excitement when I recieved a text from my sister with the solid orange pan!

My sister's text was immediately followed by my speed dialing her and asking how much. I held my breath and when she said $3 I screamed buy it now!! Amazing find, considering these go for much much more and I didn't have one in my collection!

Thank God for Sisters and Vintage pyrex :)

As you can see you can never have too much Pyrex...right?

See more of my collection at cherrypickedfinds.blogspot.com and you can decide :)) how much is too much!

Hello UFO

I started purging a great deal of my collection recently and on the chopping block was my Turquoise 024. I was all set and ready to offer it for sale but decided to take a break for a few days.

Well, I'm glad the break happened, because this past weekend we went on a day trip to a quaint little town and did touristy things. In one shop of this little town my husband found this:

A UFO stand...and how fitting that he spotted it, because the UFO is one of his dream pieces that we had always assumed would be unattainable. This stand was on a shelf under a staircase in the basement of a combo junk/antique store. We paid the junk price.

As soon as we got home he married it up with my 024:

Now, I know this is not complete because it does not have the metal lid. But maybe lightning will strike twice? Until then, we are both satisfied.

Happy hunting!

The 4th of July Pyrex Show!

I have had some great luck at estate sales lately. I always consider it especially lucky when I can include Pyrex in my stash. Here is what snagged last week and some Pyrex Art to get the festivities started! Have a great week and stop by between fireworks shows to check out the other treasures I scored at cherrypickedfinds.blogspot.com
