It was funny to hear him tell his relatives all about my pyrex adventures. I assured them that the dishes are going to a good home. His papa always had mashed potatoes in the red hostess... I know what I will be making next time cousin Patrick comes to visit :)
Happy pyrexing!

That is so sweet! What I love about the vintage Pyrex, they all have a story, of family dinners, holidays, favorite foods-it is right there in the bowls we collect, you know??
ReplyDeleteForgot to say, I am crazy jealous about the Hostess dish, on top of my wish list is one of those with the 4 smaller dishes that go with it.
ReplyDeleteMaureen, I wish blogger had a "like" button! Yes, the stories made the dishes even more special! I typically stick to butterfly gold and turquoise... But this was a happy exception! Good luck finding your hostess set- if you are on facebook, people are always trading on the "pyrex for trade" page!
DeleteBeautiful pieces :)
ReplyDeleteI've said it before....FREE Pyrex is the best kind:-)
