I am a little curious...

Hello Everyone!  I am hoping to get a little assistance with this one.  I had picked up this square baker at a flea market about a month ago and I am still a little puzzled by it.

You see...although I have seen the turquoise square baker before... it always had rounded handles...and this one has slanted angular type handles.  It is also a rather unique shade of blue.

So my question is...have you ever seen this before?  If so, do you have any ideas on dating it?

Thank you for any assistance!

  1. This is part of the Blue Horizon bakeware set from 1970-72. There was also a loaf pan and a lasagna dish. They were in increasingly darker colors with the loaf pan being the lightest. It really kind of looks like the 1950s turquoise. You're right though. The handles are more angular on these newer bakers. These also started with the '9' digit and the older ones start with a '2.' The Verde, Snowflake Garland, Daisy, Earth Tones, Spring Blossom Green, and Butterfly Gold patterns also had the bakeware sets.

    1. Thank you Nicole! This is exactly what I was hoping to find out! I knew that shape was similar to the Spring Blossom and Snowflake Garland I had seen, but I wasn't sure what pattern this would have been from. I didn't realize they had made Blue Horizon bakeware, but that is the exact color!

  2. I have one like this but in yellow. It is 8 by 8.
Unfortunately, it is so grungy I don't display it. I wish I could find a Lasagna pan.
