first finds of 2013

Although I did not find a lot in the thrifts this past weekend, I found 2 nice Pyrex additions in an antique store I stopped at. Hopefully 2013 will bring more Pyrex in the thrift stores!!! I can't wait for the spring time!

I found these two "Terra" 1.5 pint mixing bowls. At first I did not know these were mixing bowls, I thought they were like a hostess type of thing with a bigger bowl and these were salad bowls but I guess not! So I have now two Terra mixing bowls.
It is funny because some of the Pyrex patterns that you find on the internet aren't that appealing until you see them in person. I had no interest in the Terra pattern until I found these two little bowls at Savers.
Once they are cleaned up they are actually really nice and different looking.
When I found them they had some slight metal marks but once I put some elbow grease with that magic eraser, they are looking like they are brand new!
These were $1.99 each at Savers.
These are the ONLY thrift store finds that I found over the weekend!

I bought this little beauty at an antique store that I stopped off at before going home.
I saw this the week before but skipped on it and this past weekend went back and it was still there!
This is the 2 1/2 Qt Butterfly Gold casserole in MINT condition! I now have the 1 1/2 Qt and 2 1/2 Qt! They are so pretty with the opal white lid!
This was $20 which isn't too bad.

I also bought this casserole in the same antique store. This is the Butterprint "Round casserole" 1 1/5 Qt. This is my first for the round casserole in the Butterprint pattern.
It is actually fairly large. I was surprised.
This was $16

Today I finally took all of my Christmas Pyrex out of my "Pyrex cabinet". I was in the mood to re-arrange my Pyrex and play with it for a bit. I was not sure what to display but right now I am loving the Butterprint and Butterfly Gold patterns. And these two patterns look really nice mixed together. So that is what I did...and I must say it looks really nice!

  2. Loving the blue and yellow together. I also passed up on a BG 2.5 quart a while back... I may have to run back over to that antique shop to see if it's still there. But first, I need to make some room - ha!

    1. Yeah me either! Until I got the idea from my friend. She put her new butterfly gold that she just recently collected mixed in her cabinet with the butterprint that she already had, she took a picture and sent it to me and I loved them both together! That is how I got the idea =)

    1. =) $13 bucks isn't terrible for the biggest bowl...unless it is really damaged. They deff ask more in the antique stores for one that size! But hopefully you will find one soon!

    2. I agree... I've never seen that size for less than $20, and most of the time it's much higher!

  6. I think the Terra bowls are pretty - I read they are hard to maintain because of the special "finish". Yours look really nice.

    1. Thank you! They were all dinged up when I found them but I scrubbed and scrubbed and the good thing with those are that most of marks disappear.
